Not a bad day, just a MEH day

It's like nothing today is exciting me in any way shape or form. I don't know if it's allergies, which is possible as they have been really bad the week prior to this one, or just not much sleep.  I started to move this ample bod again and my legs feel worse than before. I get up at work before and I felt like one big charlie horse.  It was horrible.  never has happened before either.  I did these exercises I found on pinterest for big people.  Maybe I didn't do them right, but in my thinking just moving is a plus right? Ah, it may be everything combined, that plus not much sleep, plus bed from hell.  We need a new bed but can't just yet, so we got a foam cover for it. Does help by smoothing out the lumps (LOL) but it needs to eventually get replaced.  So one plus one plus one gives us 3.  All good, will sort itself out soon enough.
Finally got around to drinking some lovely vanilla tea that was sent as a Chrimbo gift from my overseas friend. I still has a year to go before expiration date  :-D    It was put up in the cupboard and of course if its not on the bottom or middle shelf I tend to overlook it. Well its really nice.  I had just a touch of milk in it, no sugar.  The vanilla was strong and smelled great.  I think this would be nice iced too. Us Yanks love our iced tea in the summer months  HAHAHA  I just enjoy tea, hot or cold.  I think Earl Grey still is my go to as far as flavored teas. Yorkshire Gold and PG Tips extra strong are tops in black tea as they have different qualities. As a matter of fact, think I'll make me a cuppa right now.
I'm back, yes the tea is lovely. Went with the PG Tips. Im just slug girl today. I need a haircut too. Its getting long, and its funny, the first time i cut it I wasn't sure of shorter hair. But now I really like the bob style. Plus the armer weather is coming so it's time. Not like its anywhere near as long as it was the first time I got it cut. With my, as my friend said, 80's rock hair look. LMAO  I like the shorter hair too. Who knows. Last time I got the pink highlights. I may just change the whole damn color. I know most people like the blonde but I need a change and it's my hair. I'm pretty no matter what color it is  :-D    (taken a long time for me to say that)
Well I'm signing off for today, not much going on.  Ciao For Now

Quiet Thursday

I wrote that with my fingers crossed lest I jinx myself. Ah,  and the phone rings....BRB  LMAO
Well that went well.  It was a good call and then I went in and was able to clear out my issues queue, whoot whoot.
So Easter is coming and omg I went into the drug store to get some make up remover pads and you get accosted with the scent of chocolate.  Your basic Hershey Candy and I do not like hershey candy.  I do enjoy a reese's cup I admit and i am one of those odd people that enjoy M&M's. I like them for the flavor (dark chocolate or crispy please) BUT I also love putting then in a round dish and then using them like meditation stones.  Running my fingers through them has a surprisingly nice feel. Of course only if  I am the only one going to eat them. If they are being shared I don't do that, lol .NOTE TO SELF: purchase some meditation stones  :-D    But if you know what aisle to go to you will see the better chocolate, like Lindt or Ferrero Roche.  This is only a drugstore so they do not have a high end confectionary. But they do have peeps. Those pure sugar, bad for you little blobs of marshmallow in the shapes of chicks and bunnies.  These I really like. They have not one bit of food value at all. But damn if i am not drawn to them, think its the pretty colors  lol at least you cant eat too many as you do get sick of them really fast. peeps are the candy corn of Easter. You either love them or hate them.  They have cadbury eggs too but the US Cadburys although better than hershey is no where near as good and the Cadbury from England.  I go to the international sections of the grocery to get the real Cadburys. They have something a girlfriend of mine recommended called Flake. I will investigate this one day :-D   Candy Candy Candy, for me the holiday is gone. I celebrate the Spring Equinox. Today and yesterday felt very Springlike, tomorrow is rain, also very Spring.  I dont mind at all, I like rain. I like the way it looks coming down. I've been know to watch a rainstorm and in the summer I have stayed outside in the warm rain.  I love the smell of everything after the rain, I've been told its the ions in the air, I don't know why,  but its refreshing.   Like when you hang sheets out in the summer and you bring them in and they just smell like the fresh air and sun.  I can get lost in the scent.  Sorry I was floating away on a tangent  ;-)
My only bug in al lthis is that we normally spend Eater with the in-laws and since they loaned us that bit of cash way back in early November we have not heard much from them.  The I spent Christmas with my dad and I dont know if that made them upset but they have not once called us.  I reached out a few times, and my sis in law has liked posts and pics on facebook or pinterest but that's it.  It pains me to think that this put a rift between the brothers,  I mean they didn't have to do it, we would have understood. I don't think they realized how much it helped or more so that my hubby is not letting his brother now rule his moves. I think that bro may have though this gave him the right to tell hubby what to do and I get it as he means well but hubs is very strong in his thinking and really doent need his bro being capt obvious of what needs to be done. Believe me when I tell you how har hubby had to swallow that pride to even ask his brother, but now it seems like it may have caused more issue than expected. Sad really. I have no problem with it as I am an only child but its nice having family.  I dont know and it seems like its being more complicated than it needs to be. Ah well - family!!
So I am about to finish my day here at work, I'm going to indulge in a drinky poo tonight, I have a a small bottle of jim beam apple that was given to me and im told its very good.  Im raining my eyebrow in wonder but I'll let you now  LOL  So until then  Ciao For Now

Saturday March 19, 2016 The Last

So as I pen this blog, I make note that today is the last day of winter. Although a week back it felt more like summer with temps over 80 by midday. Today though, feels like it is in full accord with the calendar. There's a winter chill, and rain is falling. It's as if winter is holding on until the very last moment, when it must release its grasp and allow Spring to take hold. I've already seen daffodils and crocus blooming around the neighborhood, but yesterday they seemed a little droopy. The warm winds are not coming as steady as one might like. But you can feel the difference, if your in sync with such things. I am, and it sets me on the usual nomadic pull I get this time if year.  I already know that I will find myself behind the steering wheel of my car, going for the afternoon drive, or the morning drive, or the early evening drive. Off to get lost on new roads, in new communities that are popping up in the blink of an eye. Good thing gas prices have lowered to under $2.00/gallon. Tink gets wonderful mileage so I can indulge for now. It's therapy for me. I have my music, my bottle of H2O, and the windows down. It's times like this I think ( okay sometimes overthink) things out. I plan, I sort things out. I find fun things that I make a mental note to go back with hubby or friends.  I recently found out, there's a lavender farm not too far away. Oh yes we will be going there. Right now it's budget budget budget, but some things need to be included and I'm starting to be able to add them in slowly. Hope hubby's unemployment starts soon, it will help.  But now the time for growth, the earth is being reborn, so should we. New starts, new dreams, renewal of things past that have been buried too long.
Spring also brings its own celebrations of rebirth, you have the Equinox, Easter, Ostara for us pagan peeps, and this brings another thing.  Food, goodies, candy, pastries. Today is St. Joseph's day for Italians all over the globe. It's also Father's Day in Italy. St.Joseph as the story goes was Jesus' , well step father I guess you would call him. It's a day to honor him and so many who are named for him, both male and female. Yes so in typical fashion, there are pastries just for this.  I tell you, it ain't easy living in an Italian home during any holiday. I know I'm half Irish but my mother was Italian so the house was Italian. These pastries are zeppoles kind of a patÄ— a choux type dough with amazing pastry cream or cannoli cream inside and usually overflowing over it. It's decadent and delicious. Seriously, what's not to love. Then you have your Easter breads and pies. The meat pie, aka hear attack on a plate. Made once a year it contains many chunks if meat( salami, cappocola, mortadella, sausage) and cheeses (mozzarella, ricotta, fontina) all mixed with eggs and more cheeses (Parmesan this time) the put into a crust also made with butter and eggs and OMG I put on 4 lbs just writing this.  You don't need a big slice, but grandmas don't know how to slice small. Lol. Then there's the grain pie. It's a sweet wheat pue, with grain, ricotta, orange water, anise, sugar and more eggs. Very very good but also - thin slice please.  Burp.  Lol. This was years back, when mom would buy me a new light coat and new dress just for Easter mass. Ah the good old days.  Food, food, food.  We stop eating all this then we are "good" until the Memorial Day parties. Then the cook outs start.
Americans really love to center holidays around food. Italians perfected it.  Lol
I'm getting ahead of myself here.
I need new clothes. I want to get a spring summer wardrobe together, I'm going to need to be inventive. I would look a picture if I had Carte Blanche in the big gal shops, but I'm limited but I will pull it together plus I'm lucky that I don't need to dress up for work. Neat casual works well, and I have several lovely dresses that are headed to the dry cleaners this week for their Spring refresh. I really need some shoes. I have a few but I would like at least one new pair of sandals. Hubs is going to need to have his suit taken in, he's list some poundage. He has a nice lighter grey blazer that can work with a few slacks he has. Shirts, he needs shirts. So shoes and shirts for us.
Well I'm starting my rambling, so I'm outta here peeps. Ciao For Now

Man It Was Monday

I'm a little giddy right now. For no other reason that I wore a blouse today that was very snug, and now it's lose.  Oh I'm not freaking out, I'm just happy. Little things, no diets, just eating smart. I am tracking on my fitness pal but I'm fucking done worrying about my dress size. It will come off, the weight, not the dress. Well maybe the dress will but that's a totally other kind of blog. Lmao. I like me and I look pretty. I don't know why but I feel I could jump for joy. Nothing really has changed except my view on things.  So yeah.
I had hubs laughing tonight, this comic named Lee Mack does this skit about adverts and the one about French adverts had me crying. So hubs, drops hot water on his foot and yell, man that is hot. So I start, it's hot, yet it is cold, it's clear, yet it's cloudy, it's wet, yet it's dry.....I'm doing this in a really bad French accent and he lost it. He's laughing so hard, then I laugh, it was a moment, I guess you had to be there. :-D lol
Hubs ordered some silicon ice ball trays that came in today. He showed me and they're nice but I thought the balls would be bigger. My friend has ones that are bigger, of course they look like the Death Star. Ha. But I guess the smaller balls will fit through the opening in my mug better. I figured if it sticks I can kind of pound my palm on it until it goes in. It will be nice to have a supply of them on hand. They're in the freezer now. Yay
In that same shipment I got some hibiscus root powder. Why the hell would she do that you ask? Well, I tell you. I make my own scrubs, and I saw this woman who made her own powder blush. I like the bare minerals brand myself. So using this powder along with cornstarch or arrowroot powder it makes a powder blush that's all natural. Hibiscus is got lots of vitamin C which is good for your skin, it's all natural, and the color is a nice deep mauve brown that when lightened up with the cornstarch will be a pretty shade. To make it more bronze you can add, get this....cinnamon! I can't wait to make a batch.  This weekend probably. I like making lotions and potions. I adore my coconut oil, vitamin E, and others. I'll take a pic once I make it and put it on. It's a hobby...that I can use. :-)
So ready for new things and I'm trying to make some.  Headed out Wednesday for trivia, pizza and hard cider. I'm a font of useless knowledge so yay Trivia!! Lol Maybe you can win cash, I like cash, cash is good. At least enough to cover my tab.  Oh the things I aspire to....endless huh?
Well I'm off peeps, another cup of tea and bed for me.  Wild animal I am.  Hahaha.  So Ciao For Now.

Okay, I Was Bored

I made a Facebook profile for our kitty.  Lol both the hubs and I had a touch of intestinal issues this weekend so we didn't do too much. I was going to work OT this weekend but it didn't happen. I will do it next week if possible but just was not up to it.  I'd rather make sure I'm there for scheduled work time.  But this lent itself to some down time. So I did some reading, some sketching, then got some air as hubs and I went for a nice drive Saturday late afternoon, but our adventure was cut short. Dang it. So home we went, more Pepto Bismol ingested, very light dinner ( or lack thereof) and today.  I'm feeling better, and ready for the week.  It's stress and worry I know this but it was a stressful week at work on top of all things. But I've decided fuck it. I did all I could for my hiss whilst he was out. I sent all the emails I had to as well as train, and other things. All in all its fine.  But my old pal colitis shows up sometimes. Can it go away? My doctor told me it can go dormant, but that makes no sense to me. Meh, it's all good, I'm okay.
So yeah, Fang has her own page now. She's been acting all high and mighty now. Hahaha  she's cute.
It was a friend's birthday today, she's all of 13. My gods they do like to grow up fast. She's a sweet girl, very very pretty and man she loves her make up.  I can understand. It's new, it's fun to play, and honestly she puts it on very well. She wears more than me.  See if I put on too much it gets into the wrinkles, she in the other hand has youthful lovely skin. I need some Chanel spakle and chaulk. Hehe. Nah, I wear makeup when I go out, and a touch for work. I've never worn a lot and when I do people are surprised. My mother never wore too much, she didn't need to, she was beautiful. I do have something I want to get for this lovely young lady but I have to wait until the end of the week to order it. I think she will like it. She may have one already but she will need another I think. It's a makeup case. Man, to be that young again. The funny thing is when I was 13, my mom wouldn't let me wear any make up other than lip gloss.  I rebelled by getting my eyebrows plucked by a cousin who was a beautician.  My mom being Italian, well I have lots of cousins LMAO. Mom really was blocked, as it was family, it was free , it looked good and it was my grandma's idea.  Yay Nana!!  Girls, we get interested in make up and clothes and then comes boys. Oh my friend will have his hands full, like I said she's a beautiful young lady. Both his girls have gorgeous big eyes.  I envy him, watching them grow.
So it's raining, it will be raining for most of this week.im weird, I like the rain. Nothing better than a good thunderstorm. All that energy in the air.  You can feel Spring hiding there too. The Vernal Equinox us next week. I can't wait to open the windows, so to speak. Spring cleaning, throwing out old, unused things.  I went through some pots and pans. I have several great pots and frying pans. I even have a saucier. Then I have my cast iron skillets. I made cornbread in the big one today.  It has a handle of course but it also has a grip on the front. Why you ask? Because that sucker is heavy. I love it. I have smaller ones I must reseason. Have any of you used can't iron? When you're not camping?   I'd like to hear what you think.  I will be making soda bread Aldo as St. Patrick's day is in a few days. I have mixed feelings once again. Yes I'm proud of both my heritages, but the man tried to get rid if all the Druids and other pagans. They were not hurting anyone, see religion really splits folks up. Sigh...
Heading out midweek for a girls trivia night at this place called The Mellow Mushroom,  yep, cool place. Will be fun. Just wanted to say hi to all. It's been status quo here. I will put up some of my drawings in a few days. Don't laugh okay?  :-D
So have a great Monday and ciao for now.

Hump Day You Say

A comedian I used to listen to once said "Why do we call Wednesday humpday when most people get laid on the weekends?"  LOL  But we know its the fact of we have made the middle of the work week, and sometimes its here in a blink. That's how this one was for me anyway. I'm training a new person so the days are going by quick, with that and also doing the other little odd and ends for my boss while hes out. I like being busy and PLUS and its a big plus. Its going to be 80 degrees F today and tomorrow.  Forget Spring coming, looks like its going right into summer. Its was wonderful not to wear a coat this morning. Shoes instead of boots.  Im getting the urge to go for drives but not this weekend, I was able to get some OT this Saturday and I can use it.  Im all about the extra right now.  I am in a good place even with the one income again. It feels different this time. I dotn know why, maybe because I got used to it but maybe it means that hubs will get a job soon.   Don't know, dont care, just enjoying being secure in me.  I saw this the other day and put it on facebook and I LOVE it!! Its all about perception and confidence. A great friend told me that and he was right.  We all look at things in our own way and we see things differently and isnt that a great things that ideas can get passed around. People can interact and even with differences still be friends and lovers.
Hubs is considering a change to go try for this one position, its a 6 month to a year position but the training i in TX for a month. So I'd be all alone for that amount of time. I'd be okay but the cat will go crazy  LOL   She adores him!! Its a last option as it wouldn't start until the end of April, hopefully something else will happen and if not, then hopefully he gets this  :D
Not too much going on peeps. Im eating lunch.  I had some grilled chicken I cut up into chunks, with lettuce, grape tomatoes, avocado, teeny bit of corn, 2% colby/jack cheese and a touch of buttermilk lite ranch dressing. Its so yummy. and NO, no picture of it  LMAO
Well I'm home now and hubby prepared dinner. I want him working but it's lovely having dinner ready. I love to cook, and hubs figures he's home so he can do some of it too. I really enjoy cooking alongside him in the kitchen. He's a good onion chopper and I'm a stellar sautee gal. Lol Just relaxing with a cup of coffee and a few ginger snap biscuits. I know, you're thinking coffee? For the round chick? Yes I do enjoy a nice cup and the ginger snaps in my opinion, are better suited for coffee than tea. I do enjoy a good dunking of one now and again. Hehe I've been training a new hire, as I've mentioned, she is very good. I think she will do well. We were chatting yesterday along with 2 others and they were talking about the security guard. She said he was different Friday than Monday. The Monday guy is nice and the guy on Friday is so old. I can't imagine him if someone tried to get past him. We'd all be dead.  Well they mention him and I say "oh you mean the walking dead" and they got really big eyed, seems he was behind me.  He didn't hear me I'm sure and I never said to whom I was referring.  Still, omg, yeah the face got red. Lmao whoopsie:-D
Yep, early night tonight, I'm tired. Feeling better thankfully. But it's cool in the house and do warm outside. Spring is on its way for certain.  So with that lovely thought, I'm out.  Ciao For Now.

Monday in VA , Weekend in NYC

So as I sit here at my desk feeling a bit rough, I am alone in the office. odd since about 4 people start at 8 and I'm the only one here. LOL Including managers.Well one is off this week and he has given me his log ins so I can do some things in his absence. I dont mind, I must believe it will come in handy if they decide to give a bonus ir increase this year. Although Im not holding my breath, ist been 3 years with none at all.  Sigh... LOL  Hopefully next week I can get some OT in.
So this weekend was great (well most if it)  The traffic gods shined down and my travels to NYC and back to VA were delightfully swift. 4 1/4 hours to NYC and about 4 1/2 back to VA. Granted I do go about a solid 75 - 80 when I can, but trust me when I say people still pass me at that speed. I got to my dad's at half 11, unheard of!! LMAO   He hadn't even put on the front lights for me yet.
Friday was a nice day, spent some time with dad and did some odds n ends around the house then went out with Sis.
Saw a band I've wanted to see for ages and they did not disappoint.  It was great, I even did the twist!! Also at one point i went to find an ATM to get out some cash, but alas none was on site.  So on my way back to the bar some chick grabs my hand and starts dancing with me.  LOl Okay, I go with the flow. It was fun. Turns out that a friend of mine saw the pic on facebook and knows the woman. Small world innit?   I also met a guy that Sis knows from another band.  He was a blast and I can't wait to see him perform. He's a guitarist in a band that another friend (through Sis) plays in and they are really really good. He leaned in at one point gave me a kiss and said I like you. Told him I like him too! I meant it, it was nice to be with people who were easy going, friendly and had no problem smiling at you when they caught your eye. It wasn't anything more than a honest statement.  So cool. The band we saw is a 60's music band so many of the folks were of that age group. It was awesome though, we were all dancing and singing along.  I got home about 3AM, and my dad was like wow its late.  I had to laugh, he said I was concerned. I told him TY for the concern but I'm fine.  I will always be his little girl I guess, it's nice. Come Saturday though I  I got up around half past 8 and went out to go see about getting those rainbow bagels that are taking NYC by storm.  The place is in my old neighborhood of Greenpoint Brooklyn, closer to Williamsburg really.  So I went down thre and OMG the whole place is being "gentrfied"  The hipsters are walking all over the streets with there lattes and cronuts.  I mean don't get me wrong, some really good looking people around that town but it was a surprise. I always knew it as a place of  old building with cool architecture. Now it has these luxury uber modern glass condos that rent for about 3 grand a month.  Aint nobody I know from that area that ever were able to afford that. So I get to the store and the line wraps around the block. I dont mean ten or a dozen - I'm talking at least 30 people in line.  Hell no!! No colorful bagel is worth that. Especially when I can get amazing bagels near my Dad.  So back to Queens I drove.  So I went to the grocery store for some basics for dad and as I'm in the store I feel my tummy starting to complain.  Oh no!!! oh yes, I made it to dad's just in time.  I spoke with Sis a bit later and then went to have a nana nap to settle myself. We were not meeting until 8 that night so i had time but by the time 4 came around I knew I wasn't going to head out.  if it was a head cold I sure as hell would have gone but with how i was feeling it was best to stay closer to home. Had a nice chat with Sis, she understood and we spoke for awhile.  Speaking with her the next day it seemed like I definitely saw the better show. My next trip up will be for a dinner theater murder mystery show a friend in is. Should be fun. So the night was a relaxing one, spent some more time with dad which is alwasy nice, then I went upstairs to my room and streamed a few episodes of Castle whist facetimeing with hubby. Went to sleep relatively early (midnightish) then Sunday was drive home.  Had no dinner the night before and light breakfast.  I also had gotten a turkey ande cheese on a garlic bagel for the drive home. Ate half, gave the other half to hubs. Still not 100% so had an english muffin for breakfast and my usual cup of tea.
It's gorgeous today and OMG the temps are going up to almost 80 on Thursday. So of course next weekend calls for rain  HAHAHAHA
That was the weekend peeps, heres a few pics to make you giggle.   Ciao For Now

In DA HOOD  you often saw sneakers thrown over the wires (hubs told me it was a gang symbol but if it is now it wasnt when I grew up)  still its odd to see
The Rockinghams   I got a pic just as the night was starting up

Sis, Steve and Moi  Im starring off into the distance lol

Ha!

A friend told me he gets a chuckle at the spelling errors in my blogs.  Yesterday's must have made him wet himself laughing.  Whew. Read it with my glasses on. Oh boy lmao

At dads - almost half 2 and I should be asleep. Lots on my mind. Most good, some intense. Going to try to sleep. Not sure if I will.  Ciao For Now

Ain't It Interesting

The older I get, the less "stuff" I want.  I don't know if that's normal, but it's normal for me as its how I feel.  Less clutter. Nice things but I am good with the purses I have, make up, jewels.  Not right now.  I want to downsize.  Curious but maybe Spring Fever.  You know Spring cleaning.  Hmmm
I've been listening to old music tonight, by that I mean things that enjoyed when I was 11 or 13. Crosby Still & Nash, Jimmy Buffet, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd along with the Moody Blues round out an eclectic start to my love of music. My parents both loved music, being Itakian, of course my Mom loved Perry Como, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra,  Connie Francis. Dad liked Jimmy Roselli. Lol. They liked to go dancing. They also had Broadway albums, King & I, Sound of Music, My Faur Lady. I used to listen to them and I could sing every song by the time I was 6. The musicals I'm talking about.  My personal taste changed and went all over the charts, classic rock, early techno, 80s,  some rap even. Plus 50s. But it wasn't just the singers it was the music and how t made me feel.  I get teased at work because during lunch I'll put in my ear buds and listen to my iPod and close my eyes. I want to really hear this music. I want it to do its job and take me away.  I want it to be part of me.
Was a time everything I did was felt that deeply. Nowadays much of it seems wrote. Just things I have to do and I'm not experiencing it like I used to.  Every now and then I get a rekindled feeling when a particular call is just the right mix and I have helped someone and I felt that I really did help them. Me!! It wasn't just vomiting information at them. But sadly most days are. I'm just feeling in a bit of a rut and this weekend will be just the ticket to help me. Aside from my drive up, supposed to be a clear night tomorrow. I will see my dad. Then enjoy a nice large kitchen. Going to make some lotions and scrubs whilst sipping tea and listening to music. Popping over to the Italian bakery to get some goodies for the neighbors and stopping g to hopefully purchase a new blouse or two for myself.
Evening will bring Sis, my friend and more music   I'm getting a common thread lmao. Then Saturday it's hang with dad and I get to go see another band. Whoot Whoot.
I wish more people were closer. I wish people I cared about weren't so damn far away, I wish the people I cared about knew how much I want to call but I also don't want to bother them. I wish the people I cared about knew how much I miss them. I wish the people I cared about could feel a hug & kiss from me. I wish they could see the smile that the thought of them brings to my face.  I wish for a lot I know.
Someone I know lost her mom today to pancreatic cancer and another friend told me today that a mutual friend has stage 4 breast cancer.  It's so sad, it was a bit of a surprise hearing these things back to back. A beautiful part of this though is my friend who's mother died today,  well she and her fiancé are getting married in August but when they realised it wasn't going to be much longer for her mom, they got her moms priest and got married in the hospital room so her mother could be there. How beautiful is that. I wept when I read it. This happened two days ago and she passed today. My friend is doing okay she said. She felt good for what they did. The other lady had a go find me page to help with medical expenses as she can't work.  It pusses me off that I can't give much of anything.  I'm donating 25.00 but I wish It could be more. No one should have to suffer AND worry about the expenses also. Ugh. Things suck in this respect don't they?
Switching tracks -again- ive been reading a lot. To Kill A Mockingbird is just about done. I'm about 90% finished.  Such a great book.  Love to read.  Takes my mind off the political race right now.  What a clusterfuck that is.  We will be hated and in my mind rightfully so if Trump gets elected.    That's all I'm sayin bout that. Don't really want to talk politics but arrrggghhh it's madness.
Well on that note. Lol. I'm out. Ciao For Now

What Would You Do?

Was thinking today. If you knew something was the last time, would you do it differently?  Even if it was unbelievably wonderful the way it was?

Been Training People Today

I really have enjoyed today so far.  It was cool to train a few on the people on HR and all its glory today.  I sometimes forget all the silly information that is in my noggin'  And nice to hear that I am a good teacher.  Now these people have a plus in that they know the other systems so this is just more added information but as one said, there are lots of little caveats within HR. It made the day go by faster and I've already got 45 hours in so all day tomorrow is overtime since I worked this past Saturday. Weeks total is 40 hours regular time 13 hours overtime. Not bad. It helps.
Hubs is sad, he won't say it but just now, he was very quiet and I looked over and saw a tear rolling down his cheek. My heart broke, so I cuddled into him and he's now asleep against me. So I'm sitting here for awhile I suppose. Lol. I am so annoyed at this company, they offer the full time job then realize he can't touch the new computers as he's not a full employee. So fuckin hire him! Ugh. So I brought home kabobs for dinner as a treat. It's been awhile and they were delicious. Slightly different spices from the place we used to go to, but really nice.
So no OT this weekend. It's cooking time.  I'm going to make a bunch of things like grilled chicken breasts, lamb chops (if the store has them this week) maybe a pork roast. Then during the week hubs can add some veg and dinner will be quick to prepare. They changed my hours back to 8 am to half 4 so I'll get home early enough to cook it and not eat at 7pm. I'm going to bed peeps, it's actually almost 2 hours since I started, I got caught up in something so hubs went up already. It's going to be a rough day for him and I want to get up early so I can run to the store before work and get him a treat, a card some sweets, something cute, other than me lol.  So until next time Ciao For Now

It Busts My Buttons

The problem with working in Customer Service more times than not is being the go between for the employee and the company
One woman today was saying that she was shorted for 16 hours on her last paycheck. So I saw that in the ticket she called in they made note she entered her time past the lock out and as I have said thats it and if we are in a week two you will not get those hours until the next paycycle. She was okay with that but she said there wa an additional 8 hours.  So I went back and did an audit trail and I found out that the prior week she had done her Friday time the following week again (bad pattern i know) so I let her know this except that this was a week one and it was approved so those 8 hours should have made the paycheck. So I contact payroll and am explaining this to the woman upstairs who says , well we don't see it.  I'm like how can you not?  I'm looking right at at the audit trail. So instead if taking my word or letting me send her a screen shot of what Im looking at she is asking me to contact the employee and her send me screen shots of her side of the time entry.  REALLY?  Lets just prolong this even more. I really understand protocol and I understand systems are in place for a reason but when I am seeing proof right here why is it needed to have the employee send in more proof.  I dont understand why the systems not flowing into each other on our end should make an employee have to wait for their money.  I am more and more disillusioned with this company's policies.  This whole new vacation additions for higher ups that must be used by end of first quarter, so not right just to make the books level out. As one employee said to me - Ponsey Scheme.   Hubs is on his last week at his job and will once again be looking for new employment. At least this time he will know to apply right away for the unemployment, our tax return will hold the bills for an other month maybe two if I pay minimums all across the board.  But I need to get out of this company soon.  In the time I've been here I've watched it slowly self implode
I am so looking forward to NYC this trip will be a b;ast and Sis and I are hanging with an old school/neighborhood pal of mine who is a fab person. AND her boyfriend will be our designated driver so yes the drinks will flow.  Im not an every weekend kind of drinker but this will be a let the hair down kind of night. Then Im hoping to see some peeps on Saturday then back to work the next Monday.
Hoping with hubs home at this point whilst looking for work he will do more throwing out and clearing rooms of all but the bare minimum so we can sell the house in the early summer.  Pay off the mortgage and start fresh in apartment as I still have hopes of moving back to NYC.  We shall see.  There is a bright side to this and I am going to focus on that little glimmer and fan it to a bright flame.  LOL   So I am shutting down my computer as its after 5.  Heading home and even planning to have some kebobs later this week, its been too long since the last time.
So ciao for now peeps

Just Can't Fucking Sleep

I have been horizontal in bed for almost an hour, I'm tired but sleep is not coming my way. Had a disturbing conversation with my friend about our mutual friend who died so suddenly on Valentine's Day. Seems she was speaking to the dead girls sister, she actually had an aortic aneurysm. Same thing John Ritter (the actor ) had. Seems she had a bad pain in her chest and called to her husband. In a matter of seconds her legs went numb. They actually got her to the hospital and operated on her. Somehow she ended up in two hospitals with two surgeries, ( I need to clarify this) but in the end she did not make it. My friend I spoke with got this from our deceased friends sister. She said it was hazy in parts as it all sounded so horrific and not real, like a medical tv show. This upset me so much. I have not seen this woman in years. Sure we always wanted to meet up when I visited but never seemed to be time. So now I'm here just feeling sick about the whole thing. Nothing we can do, you go when you go. That's not what I'm upset about. It makes me mad, the unfairness of it. But it is what it is. My time will come, as will everyone's. But I still find myself getting weepy.
This is not the only thing on my mind, there's good stuff too.  My uncle is doing well. His eyesight is extremely poor, but he can still see larger print, I'm talking LARGE PRINT but it's a plus. Like I originally said legally blind is not total blind. I was talking with him tonight. My aunt had him call me to make sure I was okay, as she hadn't seen me on Facebook much today. LMAO.  Thanks for the concern dear auntie and I'm good.  Dad, well he's a kicker I swear. I told him to stay in last Sunday as it was very cold in NY,  I mean temps that felt like -8 on Sunday morning, but son of a gun, he walked to church. He told me he wore his coat and hat, and yes even his gloves. He worries me but I have to give him credit. He's tough! Tougher than me, I take after my Mom. :-) He said it was fine as there was no wind, so it was pleasant with the sun shining.  He's so cute, love him with all my heart.
Tonight, hubs and I tried this new hard soda. It was a hard ginger ale. Had about the alcohol level of a beer. Jerrys hard soda, I think is the name.  Drank it pretty quick, was sweet. Reminded me of the flavored wine coolers they had back in the 80's and early 90's. Think Bartles and James.  Or a fizzy sweet Blue Nun wine. The stuff we drank before we knew what was worth drinking. Although I can see getting shitfaced on this stuff too. Truthfully it's too sweet for me, and this is from someone, who at age 22, used to drink Southern Comfort and 7up. I think of that now and shudder at how sweet it was. I used to go to parties at a friend's boyfriend's apartment. He was older than my friend and in the music producing business. So it was a VERY VERY nice place, on the west side, midtown. Ah the mid 1980's. To quote Miss Babcock from the show Mame, " I lived!" Hahaha.  I remember one party I went to, this kid, I say kid, but he was about 20. I wasn't that much older, still way under 30 so there!! Well he kept trying to get me and my friend alone. We all somehow ended up in this butlers pantry type room or coat closet. It was a long narrow room. She and I were sitting along the wall, he was standing and telling us how great it would be, he would service us all night and then we would feast on him. I kid you not, this is what he said. I remember this very clearly. I couldn't stop laughing. I was in a definite altered state. Well next thing you know, the cheeky lil bastard, oh did I mention he was from England, yep great accent, he was sexy but blonde, well he unzips his pants and pulls his cock out. I looked at my friend, she had this look on her face I still can't figure out.  I was just laughing, in the end we didn't do anything. Had a nice kiss and he said he wasn't going to force us. We chatted later on that evening, actually it was more like 4 am. He apologized to both of us, I couldn't have cared less. I wasn't offended. Neither of us were. Alls well that ends well.  We went to about 3 total parties of this caliber that I recall. My favorite part of this one actually was when I got in with about 4 people outside  in the yard and we all started talking about the stars and what may be up there with them.  That was a great conversation. A bit new age and I remember none of the exact talk but I do know I enjoyed their company.  The Village , in Manhattan , in the 80's was lots of fun. I wasn't  a slut, don't get that impression, but I wasn't a prude either. I was familiar with clubs like Hellfire, Paddles and LaTrapeze. It wasn't an everyday thing though. I had lovers but I wasn't a one night stand type of person. Good thing too in hindsight. I just loved to go and listen to music and dance. It was great dance music, new wave, beat boys doing their thing on the streets , techno was starting. The club Magique, then became The Tunnel, Danceteria, Limelight. Then a few in Queens.   I'm having wonderful flashbacks. Lol Okay I will stop now, you don't want to hear all my boring memories. You won't have any reference points for the stories.
So now it's almost midnight, still not tired but I think I can fall asleep if I try. Weird blog I know. Surprised??  Lol
Ciao For Now peeps, until next time.

Indulgences. My 1000th post. WooHoo!!

To lie back on an amazingly comfy bed with lots of puffy pillows, listening to music, sipping a great bourbon, feeling it warm your body as you float to a wonderful place in your mind. Been there, done that, but how great are indulgences. We need them don't we. And the great thing is they can be as small as taking a few moments to savor a rich dark chocolate or a full week on a trip you've planned, and all things in between.  For me it's spending times with friends.
I am seeing Sis soon and hopefully comes the summer or fall to FINALLY ( yes that in caps) hang out with my friend from overseas. I am trying to get to see my cousin this trip up too. Great person and I haven't seen her since she was a kid.  Indulgences are also watching someone enjoy a new experience. Someone laughed at me once because I was dining in a restaurant not my norm. It had new silverware for each course. Hell the fact it didn't have plastic knives and forks were a step up. Lmao
Sis and I indulge, we try new restaurants and new drinks, let me tell you Yelp has gotten us to some good places. Sadly two of the places have since closed down. We wrote good reviews too.
Another indulgence of mine is scent. I adore it. I just splurged after putting a month and a half worth of savings to get myself a bottle of Chanel Coco Madamoislle. I would have loved another bottle of Balanciaga but watching the pocketbook. I went with the parfum as the scent is longer lasting. A nice spritz in the proper areas and it lasts all day. I've already gotten several compliments. It's a lovely spicy scent.
So indulgences, you don't need a huge pocketbook to have them.  Right now I'm propped up in bed against 3 pillows on freshly washed sheets. I've taken a nice warm shower and the sheets feel so soft. I have my cute little Jammie's on, I bought them for England. Purple top with pants that are Capri length with cartoon foxes on them. I also have my Pirates Of The  Carribean throw blankie over me. It's so warm and comfy. I have a stick of incense burning and tea.  Oh yeah - indulgence.  I'll be lucky if I stay awake until the show I want to watch comes on. Property Brothers on HGTV ooh look, another indulgence.  Haha.
I'm still not feeling 100%. All the sickness I've been feeling has settled in my intestines.  NOT FUN.  That's as far as I'll say, use your imagination;-)
So go indulge peeps, enjoy life! Ciao For Now

Fear

We all have fears, they all make perfect sense to us.  We may even share similar ones. Me - I fear I'll be forgotten. I don't fear death, I don't even fear being alone. But I do fear being forgotten. Like the whole time I was friends with someone was just that - time! Nothing more nothing less.  I would love to know that on occasion someone will smile at my thought. Or laugh at something I did and say - she was fun.  I'm glad I knew her.
I see all these posts on my friend Kas' Facebook page.  Mine is there too. And I know it's a bit morbid but I often wonder how I will remembered. I hope it's good. :-)
I'm home today, been sick this entire long weekend which sucks.  But I don't want to stray far from home.  Hopefully I'll be okay tomorrow.  I am going to work no matter what.  I'm just saying hi. So take care peeps.  Ciao for now

After years of bullshit

I'm done!  If your in my life you mean something to me.  That means you will posts and notes on occasion.  I will share things. I will share good AND I will share bad.  Sometimes I'll be sad. Most times I'm happy.  I will be there for you if you want to share and if you tell me something makes you sad - I will be there for you.
That's it - simple!!!

OMG

I had a blog all ready for today, that was scrapped as I just found out that an old friend from school died today. She had a brain aneurysm. I am still in shock. I just chatted with her yesterday on Facebook. She was a lovely woman, her son is an up and coming comic and she was so proud of him.
Two years ago when Queens Village had terrible snowstorms she asked me if my Dad needed anything as she would bring over whatever he may need as most folks list electric. Dad was without power but he was okay. She lives pretty close to him.  That's the kind of woman she was. I wish her a peaceful journey into Summerland. Kay's you were an awesome lady, glad I knew you.  R.I.P.

Thames nothing for granted and p,ease let those you care about know it. We do but it's nice to hear. I say it a lot I know but I love those I live with all my being. You can bet on that!!!
