Monday in VA , Weekend in NYC

So as I sit here at my desk feeling a bit rough, I am alone in the office. odd since about 4 people start at 8 and I'm the only one here. LOL Including managers.Well one is off this week and he has given me his log ins so I can do some things in his absence. I dont mind, I must believe it will come in handy if they decide to give a bonus ir increase this year. Although Im not holding my breath, ist been 3 years with none at all.  Sigh... LOL  Hopefully next week I can get some OT in.
So this weekend was great (well most if it)  The traffic gods shined down and my travels to NYC and back to VA were delightfully swift. 4 1/4 hours to NYC and about 4 1/2 back to VA. Granted I do go about a solid 75 - 80 when I can, but trust me when I say people still pass me at that speed. I got to my dad's at half 11, unheard of!! LMAO   He hadn't even put on the front lights for me yet.
Friday was a nice day, spent some time with dad and did some odds n ends around the house then went out with Sis.
Saw a band I've wanted to see for ages and they did not disappoint.  It was great, I even did the twist!! Also at one point i went to find an ATM to get out some cash, but alas none was on site.  So on my way back to the bar some chick grabs my hand and starts dancing with me.  LOl Okay, I go with the flow. It was fun. Turns out that a friend of mine saw the pic on facebook and knows the woman. Small world innit?   I also met a guy that Sis knows from another band.  He was a blast and I can't wait to see him perform. He's a guitarist in a band that another friend (through Sis) plays in and they are really really good. He leaned in at one point gave me a kiss and said I like you. Told him I like him too! I meant it, it was nice to be with people who were easy going, friendly and had no problem smiling at you when they caught your eye. It wasn't anything more than a honest statement.  So cool. The band we saw is a 60's music band so many of the folks were of that age group. It was awesome though, we were all dancing and singing along.  I got home about 3AM, and my dad was like wow its late.  I had to laugh, he said I was concerned. I told him TY for the concern but I'm fine.  I will always be his little girl I guess, it's nice. Come Saturday though I  I got up around half past 8 and went out to go see about getting those rainbow bagels that are taking NYC by storm.  The place is in my old neighborhood of Greenpoint Brooklyn, closer to Williamsburg really.  So I went down thre and OMG the whole place is being "gentrfied"  The hipsters are walking all over the streets with there lattes and cronuts.  I mean don't get me wrong, some really good looking people around that town but it was a surprise. I always knew it as a place of  old building with cool architecture. Now it has these luxury uber modern glass condos that rent for about 3 grand a month.  Aint nobody I know from that area that ever were able to afford that. So I get to the store and the line wraps around the block. I dont mean ten or a dozen - I'm talking at least 30 people in line.  Hell no!! No colorful bagel is worth that. Especially when I can get amazing bagels near my Dad.  So back to Queens I drove.  So I went to the grocery store for some basics for dad and as I'm in the store I feel my tummy starting to complain.  Oh no!!! oh yes, I made it to dad's just in time.  I spoke with Sis a bit later and then went to have a nana nap to settle myself. We were not meeting until 8 that night so i had time but by the time 4 came around I knew I wasn't going to head out.  if it was a head cold I sure as hell would have gone but with how i was feeling it was best to stay closer to home. Had a nice chat with Sis, she understood and we spoke for awhile.  Speaking with her the next day it seemed like I definitely saw the better show. My next trip up will be for a dinner theater murder mystery show a friend in is. Should be fun. So the night was a relaxing one, spent some more time with dad which is alwasy nice, then I went upstairs to my room and streamed a few episodes of Castle whist facetimeing with hubby. Went to sleep relatively early (midnightish) then Sunday was drive home.  Had no dinner the night before and light breakfast.  I also had gotten a turkey ande cheese on a garlic bagel for the drive home. Ate half, gave the other half to hubs. Still not 100% so had an english muffin for breakfast and my usual cup of tea.
It's gorgeous today and OMG the temps are going up to almost 80 on Thursday. So of course next weekend calls for rain  HAHAHAHA
That was the weekend peeps, heres a few pics to make you giggle.   Ciao For Now

In DA HOOD  you often saw sneakers thrown over the wires (hubs told me it was a gang symbol but if it is now it wasnt when I grew up)  still its odd to see
The Rockinghams   I got a pic just as the night was starting up
